The Poznań Botanical Gardens Council passed a resolution to accept a private dendrological garden in Orle, near Kościerzyna, as a new member at its most recent meeting, held on 5 October 2009. The garden was created in the Piaseczno hunting reservation about 12 years ago. >>>

Dr Janina Krzemińska-Freda, the long serving director of the Łódź Botanical Gardens, retired at the end of March this year. Dr Krzemińska-Freda had worked at the Gardens since 1966 and served as Director since 1970, i.e. for 38 years. Dr Dorota Mańkowska (until recently Kimaczyńska) is the new director. >>>
